Real Madrid are hoping for Kylian Mbappe's return from injury as they travel next to Camp Nou to spoil Barcelona's title-winning party. Barcelona are 11 points clear of Real Madrid with four matches to go, and a point on Sunday, May 10 will secure them the La Liga title.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side's struggles on the pitch were further hit by a physical altercation between teammates Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni on Thursday. It has been reported that Valverde suffered a head injury and is ruled out of El Clasico.

With Valverde out, the Los Blancos fans will look forward to Kylian Mbappe's return for the all-important trip to Barcelona. But, is the Frenchman available for the El Clasico?

Kylian Mbappe injury update ahead of Barcelona vs Real Madrid clash

The 27-year-old forward suffered a muscle strain during Real Madrid's 1-1 draw against Real Betis on April 24. He also missed the team's last game against Espanyol last week, but is expected to be part of the squad for the trip to Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe took part in training, and according to ESPN's report, the star forward was given the green light to feature in the next match. Mbappe might come in as a substitute against Barcelona, in a huge boost to Arbeloa's side in delaying Barcelonan's La Liga title celebration.

"We'll see how Mbappe is this week, after last week's tests, it might take a bit longer, but we'll see how things develop," Alvaro Arbeloa said when asked about the player's availability for El Clasico.

Mbappe has been superb with 24 goals and four assists in 28 appearances in the Spanish league. He also recorded 15 goals in the Champions League this season, but is facing fans' wrath after being spotted on vacation despite his injury struggles.

Gonzalo Garcia might get a nod ahead of Kylian Mbappe in the front three, but the latter is likely to come in as a substitute later in the game.
