Most Fours in IPL History: Complete List of All-Time Boundary Hitters

Virat Kohli (RCB) hammered 771 fours in 259 innings and collected 8661 runs in the IPL. He claimed the record of scoring the most fours in IPL history. Shikhar Dhawan (DC,DEC,MI,PBKS,SRH) cracked 768 fours and secured 6769 runs across 221 innings. He is the 2nd-best batter when it comes to hitting the maximum number of fours in the IPL. With consistent batting, David Warner (DC,SRH) smashed 663 fours and grabbed 6565 runs in 184 innings. He claimed the 3rd spot for hitting the most boundaries in the IPL. Rohit Sharma’s boundary tally in IPL includes 640 fours in 267 innings with 7046 runs. He is the 4th-best player in the league in getting the most fours. These four top-notch players have refined their boundary-hitting consistency in the IPL, proving that timing and class matter as much as power. Their stunning records not only changed the momentum of the match but also created great moments for cricket fans across the world.

Most Fours in IPL History

The batsman consistently accumulated runs year after year, and fours played a crucial role in helping him gather more runs in less overs. They constructed their innings brick by brick using fours and sixes to find the boundaries. In the IPL season, Virat Kohli leads the list for the most fours in IPL history.

Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, and Ajinkya Rahane also secured spots in the Top 5 with their stellar  performances in finding boundaries. 

Virat Kohli has set the record for the most fours in IPL, he hit 771 fours in 259 innings and  he managed to hit 84 fours in the IPL 2024 season.

Shikhar Dhawan followed closely with 768 fours in 221 innings and maintained the strike rate of 127.14 with a batting average of 26.97.

In third place is David Warner in the list o f most fours in IPL with 668 fours in 184 innings.

Rohit Sharma also secured a spot in the top five and found the 640 boundaries in 267 innings.

Ajinkya Rahane rounds out the list with 514 boundaries in 184 innings, maintaining a strike rate of 124.99.

Players with most fours in ipl in one match

PC Valthaty and AB de Villiers topped the list of most fours in ipl in one match. Both the players stood with 19 fours in one match. 

In 2013, while playing for Kings XI, PC Valthaty hit 19 fours off 63 balls and scored a total of 120 runs against the Chennai Super Kings. AB de Villiers found 19 boundaries in 59 balls against Mumbai Indians in 2015.

Jos Buttler has scored 83 fours in 17 innings and topped the list of most fours in IPL 2022 while Shubman Gill a promising young cricketer and emerging talent of cricket topped the list of most fours in IPL 2023 despite having tough competition and legend players like Virat Kohli and David Warner in the queue. 

Most Fours in IPL by Team

Rajasthan Royals stand on the number first in scoring most fours in an ipl season. The Rajasthan Royals made this record in 2013 with 267 fours in 18 innings.

Mumbai Indians also scored 265 fours in 16 innings in the IPL 2023. Kings XI Punjab also spotted his place in top 3 team who scored most fours in an ipl season, they found 267 boundaries in 17 innings in the IPL 2014.
