Zimbabwe’s very presence at the tournament is a story in itself. This is the Chevrons’ first World Cup appearance since November 6, 2022, a gap of 1,191 days. Having missed the 2024 edition altogether, Zimbabwe are back on the global stage, revisiting memories of their 2022 campaign, where they reached the Super 12s, still their best-ever finish at a T20 World Cup.

Oman, meanwhile, is chasing a different landmark. This is their fourth appearance at a T20I World Cup and their second consecutive outing after featuring in the 2024 edition. However, history hasn’t been kind; Oman has managed just two wins across their previous three World Cup campaigns. They’ll take confidence from recent form, though, having beaten Zimbabwe in a warm-up match a week ago.
