Sai Sudharsan’s elbow injury during Gujarat Titans’s previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders has become a major concern for the franchise, especially considering the kind of form the youngster has shown throughout the season.
As GT prepare for a crucial clash against CSK, the focus remains firmly on Sudharsan’s fitness and whether the franchise will risk one of their best batters at this stage of the tournament.
Sai Sudharsan's painful elbow injury puts him in doubt
Sai Sudharsan sustained the elbow injury during GT’s chase against KKR at Eden Gardens. Despite the blow, the left-handed batter showed remarkable determination and returned later to bat in the same innings.
GT assistant coach Parthiv Patel later provided a positive update on the youngster’s condition and confirmed that the injury was a direct impact on the elbow.
“It was a good thing that he could come out later and bat. It was a direct impact on the elbow, but it was good that he could bat again,” said Parthiv Patel.
However, despite the encouraging signs, GT are unlikely to take any major risk with Sudharsan given the seriousness of the impact and the packed schedule in the final stage of the league campaign.
As things stand currently, Sai Sudharsan appears unlikely to feature in the GT vs CSK clash.
Prasidh Krishna could return as Ahemdabad expected to assist pacers
Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna could return to GT’s playing XI for the clash against CSK, largely because of the conditions expected at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Prasidh had missed GT’s previous game at Eden Gardens, with the franchise preferring an extra spin option in Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore on a surface that offered some assistance to slower bowlers.
Sai Kishore delivered a decent outing on a flat wicket, conceding 38 runs in his spell while also picking up wickets. However, the Ahmedabad surface is generally known to offer more help to pacers compared to spin bowlers.
Because of that, GT could once again look towards Prasidh to strengthen their pace attack.
So, there are high chances that Prasidh Krishna might return in GT vs CSK clash.
