Batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi headlined India’s presence in the ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup Team of the Tournament, announced on Sunday, after a sensational campaign that culminated in a historic title triumph.
The 14-year-old, who smashed a breathtaking 175 off just 80 balls in the final against England, was earlier named Player of the Tournament. He is joined in the 12-member team by fellow Indians Kanishk Chouhan and Henil Patel, as India clinched a record-extending sixth Under-19 World Cup crown.
Chouhan delivered consistent all-round performances throughout the tournament, while Patel impressed with the ball, finishing with 11 wickets, including a stunning five for 16 against the USA.
Runners-up England also feature prominently with three selections. Thomas Rew has been named captain and wicketkeeper after an outstanding campaign in which he scored 330 runs at an average of 66, highlighted by a match-winning century in the semi-final against Australia.
England’s Manny Lumsden, the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 16 scalps, and Ben Mayes, the highest run-scorer with 444 runs, also make the cut. Mayes fell just one run short of equalling the all-time highest individual score at an Under-19 World Cup, having blasted 191 against Scotland.

Australia captain Oliver Peake, who scored two centuries in the tournament, is included alongside Pakistan pacer Ali Raza and West Indies left-arm spinner Vitel Lawes. Raza finished with 13 wickets at an average of 13.92, while Lawes claimed 10 wickets in five matches.
