Both captains high on confidence despite recent defeats
Shreyas Iyer said that despite the recent setbacks, the team remains confident and motivated heading into the clash. He highlighted that being at the top of the table still gives them belief and praised the effort put in by the players both on and off the field.
“We got two losses, but still being at top of the table, it gives us immense motivation to come here and play today. There haven’t been any complaints. People have been putting hard yards in the practice and also off the field.”
Pat Cummins kept the focus on returning to their best and building on the strong support from the fans. He added that the team is looking to play positive cricket and put in a complete performance.
“We don’t have to look far back before looking at ourselves at our best. Absolutely, yeah, the support has been great. They’ve been awesome the last few years. They love seeing good positive cricket, so hopefully we bring more of that tonight.”
