“Security to be beefed up near Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium) on the final day of the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir,” said Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary Ashok Sharma on Monday.

He added that he would be coordinating with Delhi Police to request additional security deployment around the stadium premises.

Earlier in the evening, a powerful blast ripped through a car parked near the Red Fort Metro station, killing at least eight people and gutting several vehicles. Around 24 others were injured in the explosion that occurred during peak hours when the area was crowded with commuters and visitors.
