Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has extended wedding invitations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for the wedding of his son Arjun Tendulkar with Saaniya Chandok.

Sharing the moment on social media, Sachin said it was an honour to invite Prime Minister Modi.
“We were honoured to invite Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple,” he posted.

Tendulkar also met Rahul Gandhi to personally invite him to the ceremony.
“Our family had the opportunity to meet Shri Rahul Gandhi ji and invite him to Arjun–Saaniya’s wedding,” he wrote.

In another post, the former India captain revealed that President Droupadi Murmu had also been invited.
“Last February, Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji graciously hosted us at Rashtrapati Bhavan. We relived some of those cherished memories when we met the President today to invite her to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you for your warm wishes, Hon’ble President,” Tendulkar said.

Arjun, a 26-year-old left-arm pacer, got engaged to Saaniya Chandok in August last year. Chandok is the granddaughter of businessman Ravi Ghai.
