Rajasthan Royals have continued their sublime form in IPL 2026 by crushing Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in a rain-hit clash in Guwahati. After the game was reduced to 11 overs, they dominated the five-time champions, registering their third win out of three games in this year's tournament.

RR vs MI: Rajasthan Royals openers run fest in powerplay

After being invited to bat first, RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi led the carnage with a blistering 80-run opening partnership in just 4.6 overs. Jaiswal remained not out on 77 runs in just 32 deliveries, which included 10 fours and four sixes, taking every bowler to the cleaners. He was well supported by Sooryavanshi, who scored 39 runs in just 14 deliveries.

However, Dhruv Jurel departed for just 2 runs and meanwhile skipper Riyan Parag scored a valuable 20 runs in 10 deliveries as Rajasthan Royals posted a mammoth 150 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 11 overs.

For Mumbai Indians, it was a night to forget as all of their bowlers went for runs. Spinner Allah Ghazanfar picked up 2 wickets, while Shardul Thakur also chipped in with one. But all of them leaked runs at a very quick rate.

RR vs MI: Top order collapse puts MI on back foot

Coming out to bat under immense pressure, MI batters never looked in great touch as the top three departed for single digits. First Ryan Rickelton fell for 8, then Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for 6. The woes further deepened when Rohit Sharma was trapped lbw by Sandeep Sharma for just 5 runs.

Meanwhile, Naman Dhir and Sherfane Rutherford contributed with 25 runs each, putting up a short yet quick partnership, but that was not enough as Rajasthan Royals were too good in the end, delivering a complete all-round performance against the five-time champions.

For RR it was collective bowling display where every bowler chipped in with wickets. Nande Burger continued his brilliant run with two wickets, Ravi Bishnoi and Sandeep Sharma also took two wickets each.
