NEW DELHI: Rohit Sharma’s poor run in the New Zealand series continued in Indore as the opener departed for just 11 runs. His future in the format is under the scanner once again as he struggles to convert starts into big scores.

It was a very important game for him as selectors are looking for excuse to drop him & bring Jaiswal in. His total runs in this series are 61. pic.twitter.com/AlZ55Q5z2S
Struggling to Find the Big Scores
He came into the series in good touch, having scored 75 against South Africa a couple of weeks ago, but he has failed to make an impact so far. In the first ODI in Vadodara he got a start but fell for 29. In the second game at Rajkot he managed 24 runs then in Indore he was once again dismissed cheaply.
Known for his clean striking in the Powerplay, Rohit has struggled to turn his starts into significant contributions. He has often given away his wickets too early, preventing him from building the kind of innings that has defined his career.
Before the Australia series, there were many questions about both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and their futures in ODI cricket. Rohit silenced his critics with the man-of-the-series award in that series, including a sensational hundred at the SCG.
Rohit, the Hitman, has already scored more than 11,500 runs in ODIs and is well-known for his comebacks. With his vast experience, there is no doubt he can bounce back.
One poor series doesn't define Rohit Sharma. I have trust in him. He will comeback soon. 🧿 pic.twitter.com/jGAnhFPnbU

The Road Ahead
The bigger question now is about managing his form given ODI cricket taking a backseat for a long period due to the ICC T20 World Cup and the IPL, it will be crucial for the veteran to keep his touch and maintain his game at the highest level.
