Former Indian captain and veteran opener Rohit Sharma is set to return to the national squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. Following a successful ODI tour of Australia, where he scored 202 runs in three innings including a century and a fifty at an average of 101, Rohit was recently spotted hitting the gym, as shared on his social media.

Rohit also shared a light-hearted moment during his workout, showing him chatting with Mumbai Indians team physio Amit Dubey. Crediting Dubey for keeping the spirits high, Rohit captioned the post: “Smiles sponsored by Dube ji. T&C apply.”

Earlier this year, Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket ahead of India’s five-match tour of England. He subsequently returned to the ODI side for the series in Australia, reaffirming his place as one of India’s premier limited-overs batters.

Rohit Sharma, along with fellow seasoned veteran Virat Kohli, has now been named in India’s squad for the home ODI series against South Africa. The three-match series is seen as an early checkpoint in India’s preparation for the 2027 World Cup.

The matches will be played in Ranchi, Nava Raipur, and Vizag on November 30, December 3, and December 6, respectively.
