Delhi Capitals secured pacer Auqib Nabi for ₹8.40 crore after a competitive bidding battle at the IPL 2026 auction in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. DC opened the bidding, with Rajasthan Royals briefly joining before bowing out once the price crossed ₹1 crore. Royal Challengers Bengaluru entered at ₹1.10 crore but exited when DC pushed the bid to ₹2 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad then joined the contest, triggering a prolonged duel with DC that saw the price surge past ₹7 crore before SRH finally pulled out at ₹8.40 crore.

Meanwhile, Prashant Veer turned into one of the surprise stars of the auction as Chennai Super Kings signed the all-rounder for a staggering ₹14.20 crore, despite his base price being just ₹30 lakh. Lucknow Super Giants opened the bidding, with Mumbai Indians briefly joining before withdrawing at ₹1.20 crore. CSK then entered the race, forcing LSG to step aside at ₹4.20 crore. Rajasthan Royals pushed the price to ₹6 crore before SRH joined at ₹6.80 crore, setting up a fierce contest with CSK. The bidding crossed ₹10 crore and then ₹13 crore before CSK finally sealed the deal at ₹14.20 crore.

CSK continued their aggressive approach by landing Kartik Sharma, also with a base price of ₹30 lakh, after another intense bidding war. Mumbai Indians started the bidding before LSG and KKR joined in. The contest narrowed to KKR and LSG once the price crossed ₹1 crore, before CSK entered decisively at ₹5 crore. The race once again came down to CSK and KKR as the bid crossed ₹8 crore. KKR briefly held the lead at ₹10 crore, but CSK surged ahead with a ₹13 crore bid, forcing KKR out. SRH attempted a late move at ₹13.20 crore, but CSK eventually secured Kartik Sharma, completing another high-profile buy.

Thus, Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma become the most expensive uncapped players, with ₹14.20 crore respectively, joining the CSK squad.
