RCB vs CSK: Royal Challengers Bengaluru crushed their rivals Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs and went top of the points table in IPL 2026. In a record-laden game at M Chinnaswamy, the hosts posted the mammoth team total of 250 runs while batting first and then bowled out the visitors on 207.

With two wins in their opening two matches this season, RCB returned to the top of the points table, replacing Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, stayed at the bottom after their third successive defeat in IPL 2026.

After being forced to bat first, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt struggled for the quick runs with no boundaries in the first three overs. Kohli then shifted the gears in the fourth over with a six and four off Matt Henry, and that triggered a rain of fire on CSK bowlers.

Kohli fell on 28 runs, but the RCB remained in the hammer mode throughout their innings. Tim David top-scored with 70* off just 25 balls to record his highest score in IPL history. He smashed eight sixes and three fours to produce the best knock of the season so far.

Before David's fiery knock, Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar contributed with impactful innings. Padikkal recorded back-to-back fifties this season by scoring 50 off 29 balls, and RCB captain added an unbeaten 48 runs off just 19 balls to lead RCB to a massive total of 250, the highest against CSK by any team in IPL history.

Chasing the tough target, CSK's struggling openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson failed to contribute again with single-digit scores. Jacob Duffy removed both openers and the veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Ayush Mhatre in the second over to give RCB a flying start.

Sarfaraz Khan revived CSK's comeback by smashing 50 off just 25 balls, his first IPL fifty since 2019. Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton also added valuable runs to take Chennai past 200, but it was not enough for the traveling side.

Bhuvneshwar returned for his second spell and took two wickets as Chennai's innings stumbled on 207 runs in 19.4 overs. Tim David won the Player of the Match award for striking at 280.00 in the RCB vs CSK run-fest.
