NEW DELHI: As the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is approaching the anticipation around teams and players is already on peak. With the tournament getting closer discussions and predictions have started pouring in from all corners.

Among them former England captain Eoin Morgan has come up with a surprise prediction regarding the summit tournament. Speaking on Sky Sports Cricket Morgan said he is confident about one particular player who could make a big difference.

Morgan makes his pick

When asked about one player that he feels could shape the tournament Morgan named England batter Phil Salt. He believes the aggressive opener has grown massively over the last few years and now looks far more destructive.

“For me it’s Phil Salt of England. I think in the last couple of years he’s gone to a new level of destruction. He had a good time with RCB in the IPL and confidence of playing in those conditions is vitally important. So I would say sort of talent will have the ability to shape the whole World.”

Morgan feels Salt’s exposure to big leagues and pressure situations has added a lot to his confidence. According to him that experience can prove vital in a World Cup setting.
