NEW DELHI: India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy produced a sensational spell for Andhra in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League Group A match against Madhya Pradesh.

The right-arm pacer bagged a brilliant hat-trick, reducing MP to 14/3 inside just three overs. However, despite his early heroics, Andhra couldn't capitalise as Madhya Pradesh chased down the modest 113-run target in 17.3 overs.

He dismissed Harsh Gawli, Harpreet Bhatia and Rajat Patidar off the last three balls of the third over, triggering a stunning collapse in the MP innings. Reddy began by rattling Gawli's stumps, followed it up with Bhatia edging it to first slip, and sealed the hat-trick when Patidar dragged a delivery back onto his own stumps.

Soon after Reddy's hat-trick, MP slipped further to 37 for 4 in the seventh over with Venkatesh Iyer's dismissal.

However, Rishabh Chouhan and Rahul Batham steadied the chase with a composed 73-run partnership for the fifth wicket, ensuring there were no more stumbles.

MP eventually crossed the line comfortably, winning by four wickets with 15 balls remaining and pocketing four points to open their Super League campaign.

Chouhan anchored the recovery with a 43-ball 47 studded with six fours, while Batham provided solid support, remaining unbeaten on 35 off 32.
