NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians have appointed Kristen Beams as their Spin Bowling Coach ahead of the sixth season of the Women's Premier League. The move brings world-class experience to the franchise as they aim to defend their title.

A former Australian leg-spinner, Beams had a distinguished international career, featuring in 1 Test, 30 ODIs, and 18 T20Is. She was a key figure in Australia’s 2017 ODI World Cup campaign, finishing as the third-highest wicket-taker.

In addition, she played 45 T20 matches in the WBBL, gaining invaluable experience in high-pressure situations.

Beams has extensive coaching experience, having worked in the WBBL and The Hundred, coached the Australia Women’s U19 team, and served as National Development Lead at Cricket Australia. Her expertise will strengthen Mumbai Indians’ spin attack and overall bowling unit.

Mumbai Indians are the most successful WPL franchise with two titles and enter the new season as defending champions. WPL 6 begins on 9th January and will run until 5th February, with five teams battling it out for the prestigious crown.
