NEW DELHI: Pakistan’s humiliation on the international stage against India stretched further on Sunday as India crushed them by 61 runs to make it three wins in three matches at the ICC T20 World Cup. It was another bitter defeat in a rivalry that continues to tilt heavily in India’s favour.

But beyond the loss, the more painful moment for Pakistan came after the match. Their batters Shaheen Afridi and Usman Tariq were seen standing still, waiting for handshakes, as Team India walked past them once again.

The handshake row had first erupted during the Asia Cup when Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistan players in solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack earlier that year.

Since then, the pattern has continued across formats, from women’s cricket to Under 19 clashes to senior men’s internationals.

A short clip recorded by a spectator from the stands quickly went viral on social media. Fans brutally trolled Pakistan not only for the heavy defeat but also for what many described as another public humiliation.

On the field, India batted first and piled up a commanding 175. Ishan Kishan led the charge with a blistering 77 that set the tone for the innings.

In reply, Pakistan never looked in control. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals and the chase fell apart quickly. They were eventually bowled out for 114.

Usman Khan scored 44 but received little support from the rest of the batting line up. The collapse summed up another tough night for Pakistan in this fierce rivalry.
