Lucknow Super Giants
Things are equally worse for Lucknow Super Giants, who sit at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table. Rishabh Pant's side have won twice in eight games this season and are looking to end their five-match losing streak today.
They failed to chase a 156-run target against KKR in their last game and lost the match in a super over thriller in Lucknow. LSG have struggled to find their best batting order and that is hurting the team's approach while chasing.
Captain Rishabh Pant is struggling for runs and also is being criticized for his poor leadership decisions this season. He will be hoping to overcome both issues with a big win over MI today.
Mumbai Indians Preview
Two wins in nine games tell the disappointing story for the five-time champions. Mumbai started their campaign with a dominant win against KKR at Wankhede Stadium, but after that, they won just one of their next eight games.
Mumbai also defeated Gujarat Titans by 99 runs, but it was followed by a 103-run defeat against CSK at home. They also failed to defend their biggest-ever total at Wankhede against SRH.
In their last game, Hardik Pandya's side lost against CSK away by eight wickets, a heartbreaking blow to their playoff hopes. Now, they can still manage to reach 14 points if they win the remaining five group stage games, but need favorable results for other teams.
Rohit Sharma's return is likely to boost their struggling batting attack today, but they need a notable improvement from Suryakumar Yadav and captain Hardik Pandya.
Will Rohit Sharma play today
Most likely yes.
Rohit Sharma has passed a fitness test and is expected to play today. The management has reportedly made it clear that it is up to Rohit to decide when he returns. The former MI skipper's return is likely to boost the team's confidence in the do-or-die fixture.
