Rajasthan Royals’ young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi endured a rare quiet IPL 2026 outing against Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. But what followed after his dismissal quickly became a major talking point among fans.
Both of Rajasthan openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi, departed for single digits. This came as a surprise in cricket news given the way they had been tearing apart bowling attacks throughout the IPL season so far.
Kyle Jamieson’s aggressive celebration grabs attention
In the second over, Kyle Jamieson cleaned up Sooryavanshi with a clever delivery. It was a low dipping full toss and the youngster stayed back in the crease trying to defend. The ball took the inside edge, brushed the back pad and rolled onto the stumps.
Jamieson celebrated aggressively after the wicket clearly fired up. The reaction seemed to affect the young batter, who was seen in tears after the dismisal.

Rajasthan Royals rebuild through Riyan Parag and Jurel Dhruv
Meanwhile, skipper Riyan Parag finally made his bat do the talking after a quiet season so far. After the early setbacks, Delhi Capitals struck again as returnee Mitchell Starc removed Jaiswal in the very first over, despite being hit for a six on the opening ball.
Following the two early dismissals, Dhruv Jurel and Parag steadied the innings with a solid 102-run partnership off just 59 deliveries, putting Rajasthan Royals back on track.
Jurel eventually departed for a well-made 42, but Parag continued to dominate the bowlers, finding boundaries regularly and keeping the scoreboard ticking.
At the end of 15 overs, Rajasthan Royals were in a strong position at 147 for 3. Parag was leading from the front with 77 off just 45 deliveries, while Ravindra Jadeja was at the other end on 14.
With wickets in hand and momentum on their side, Rajasthan Royals will now look to finish strongly in the final overs.
