KL Rahul wrapped up his impressive IPL 2026 campaign with a quickfire fifty during Delhi Capitals' dominant win against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. With Delhi Capitals failing to make the playoffs, KL Rahul finished inside the top five in the IPL 2026 Orange Cap race after the league stage games.
The league stage of the 19th edition of the tournament concluded with DC beating KKR by 40 runs at Eden Gardens. Across 70 group stage matches, 10 players finished the campaign with 500-plus runs, and four players picked up 20 or more wickets.
With four playoff games still to come, the IPL 2026 Orange Cap and Purple Cap leaderboard could see late changes, but a few frontrunners are looking confident for the prestigious honours.
KL Rahul out of IPL 2026 Orange Cap after DC elimination
KL Rahul single-handedly carried Delhi Capitals throughout the season and finished with 60 off just 23 balls against KKR on Sunday. The DC opener finished his campaign with 593 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 174.41. He smashed 151* off 67 balls against PBKS to record the highest-ever individual score by an Indian in IPL history.
Last year's top run-scorer, Sai Sudharsan, leads the Orange Cap race with 638 runs, followed by his GT team-mate, Shubman Gill. Heinrich Klaasen is not far behind with 606 runs and is set for at least two playoff games. The 15-year-old prodigy, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, is red hot with 583 runs and is in contention to become the youngest Orange Cap winner.

Jofra Archer enters Purple Cap race with match-winning performance against MI
Jofra Archer produced a memorable performance in the must-win game against Mumbai Indians. The English pacer picked up three wickets for 17 at Wankhede and became the fourth player to clinch 20 or more wickets in the 2026 season.
Former Purple Cap winners Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada are leading with 24 wickets each and are up against each other in Qualifier 1 on May 26.
