Rajasthan Royals avoided a late scare to beat Gujarat Titans by six runs in the ninth match of the IPL 2026 in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Dhruv Jurel top-scored his 75 runs off 42 balls and Ravi Bishnoi claimed four wickets to lead the Royals to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.

Riyan Parag-led Rajasthan Royals took a brave decision as they became the first team to bat first after winning the toss this season. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi proved the captain's decision right with a quickfire 70-run stand for the opening wicket.

Jaiswal overcame his first game struggles, scoring 55 off just 36 balls. Jurel, in his new No. 3 role, made the biggest impact as he added 75 runs off 42 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes. Rajasthan struggled to finish strong with the bat, but still managed to take the total to 210 for 6.

In their response, Shubman Gill-less Gujarat Titans also produced a quickfire start to balance the game. Openers Sai Sudharsan and Kumar Kushagra added 78 runs for the first wicket, with the last season's Orange Cap winner, Sudharsan, smashing 73 runs off 44 balls.

Ravi Bishnoi was introduced as an impact player in the 11th over, and the decision proved to be the match-winning moment for the traveling side. Bishnoi dismissed Sudharsan in his first over and then removed Glenn Phillips and Washington Sundar in his second over to put Rajasthan well ahead in the game.

Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan kept the hosts alive in the chase and took the game to the wire with a 43-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Rajasthan Royals held their nerves in the last over, with Tushar Deshpande defending 11 runs in six balls.
