NEW DELHI: Social media influencer and co-owner of Supreme Strikers in the inaugural Champions League T10, RJ Mahvash, shared her views with Sports Yaari in an exclusive interaction. While speaking about Team India's Asia Cup 2025 squad, she expressed her disappointment over Shreyas Iyer's exclusion and also gave an interesting reaction on Yuzvendra Chahal.
During the tournament's trophy launch, our reporter Priyanshu Nawani asked Mahvash - who is a big Punjab Kings fan - whether she felt upset about Iyer being left out of the squad.
Responding to the question, she said: "I feel he definitely deserved a spot in the squad because he has been performing really well." And of course, all three performers we've been talking about deserve credit. I even heard a buzz that Iyer might be handed ODI captaincy, so let's hope for the best."
Her take on Chahal and Jaiswal Adding further, Mahvash said: "I also think Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) and Yashasvi Jaiswal should have been there. Chahal is one of the top wicket-takers and absolutely deserved a place." The conversation then took a lighter turn when she was asked: Who's the most handsome cricketer in Team India? “Cricket should be judged by skills. Whoever performs well automatically looks good to the fans. Hit a beautiful shot and suddenly you look more handsome!” Pat came the reply. Chahal's record in T20Is Mahvash highlighted that Chahal is among India's highest wicket-takers in T20 internationals. So far, the leg-spinner has played 80 matches and picked up 96 wickets. At present, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh leads the charts with 99 wickets, while Chahal sits second on the list.
