Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has clarified that he will be fully available to bowl in the tournament, despite being listed as a pure batter in the auction set.

Green, who has been placed in Set No. 1 at a base price of ₹2 crore, addressed concerns over his role, stressing that he remains an all-rounder and that franchises should not read too much into the listing. With the auction just days away, the clarification is expected to significantly boost his demand among teams looking for a pace-bowling all-rounder.

Speaking to reporters in Adelaide during a training session ahead of the third Ashes Test, Green revealed that the confusion stemmed from an error made during the registration process. The 25-year-old candidly admitted that his manager had accidentally selected the wrong category while entering his details.

“I’ll be good to bowl. I don’t know if my manager would like to hear this, but there was a stuff-up on his end,” Green said. “He didn’t mean to list me as a batter. I think he clicked the wrong box. It’s pretty funny how it’s played out, but it was definitely a mistake.”

Green’s availability as a bowling all-rounder will come as a major relief for franchises tracking him closely ahead of the auction.

The Australian made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2023, enjoying a breakthrough season in which he scored 452 runs and picked up six wickets. He was later traded to Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of IPL 2024, where he contributed 255 runs and claimed 10 wickets.

Green did not feature in IPL 2025 after undergoing surgery for a back injury and focusing on his recovery. Now fully fit, he is set to make his IPL return and is widely tipped to be among the most expensive buys at the IPL 2026 auction.
