NEW DELHI: India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah not only troubles opposition batters with his pace and accuracy but also shows no mercy to his own teammates in the nets, revealed wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan.

Speaking on a podcast, Kishan said that Jasprit Bumrah is the toughest Indian fast bowler to face in the nets, while Yuzvendra Chahal poses the biggest challenge among the spinners.

"Among spinners, I find Yuzi bhai [Yuzvendra Chahal] tough to play; I think he's figured me out. In pace, I mean, no one is better than [Jasprit] Bumrah bhai. Let me tell you a story. Bura maan jayenge (He might get upset) that I say this everywhere. When we practice, we often get different wickets. Some will be grassy, others will be dry. But whenever it's grassy, usually the bowlers go easy on batters, but Bumrah doesn't believe in it. If a batter middles the ball, you know he'll bowl a barrage of bouncers later," Ishan said while speaking on the 2 Sloggers podcast.

T20 World Cup: Teams and Players with the highest number of Titles

Kishan has hit top gear since making his comeback to the Indian side in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand. Featuring in four matches, the wicketkeeper-batter amassed 215 runs at an impressive average of 53.75 and a strike-rate of 231.18, highlighted by a brilliant century in the fifth and final T20I at Thiruvananthapuram.

In a matter of four matches, Kishan has overtaken Sanju Samson as the primary choice for India's wicketkeeper batter in the World Cup.

Former Australia cricketer Michael Klinger believes Kishan has done enough to push himself firmly into India's starting XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

"Ishan Kishan has come back in fantastic form and is certainly putting a case forward to start in the XI at the World Cup," he said, adding that India's depth has turned selection into a challenge rather than a concern.
