The IPL 2026 mega auction will feature only 350 players, with the BCCI trimming down the longlist by removing 1,005 names. 35 new players have been added despite not registering earlier, including one high-profile inclusion, Quinton de Kock.
The South African wicketkeeper-batter was added upon special request by an IPL franchise, likely influenced by his explosive century against India in Vizag after reversing his ODI retirement. De Kock enters the auction at a base price of ₹1 crore, slashed to half of his previous valuation of ₹2 crore.
