The Board of Control for Cricket in India have unveiled India’s squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, set to be held in England. The 15-member squad will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana named vice-captain.

Key inclusions and notable absentees in India squad

Bharti Fulmali, wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and uncapped pacer Nandini Sharma are among the key inclusions in the squad. The selectors have opted for experience behind the stumps, with Yastika preferred for her ability to contribute at the top as well.

Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol have been left out, while injuries have ruled out all-rounder Amanjot Kaur and seamer Kashvee Gautam. Amanjot is expected to be sidelined for the next few months, leaving a gap in the all-round department.

India’s batting unit remains largely unchanged and well-settled. Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Mandhana are expected to form the core at the top.

Bharti Fulmali’s return adds depth to the middle order, while finishers like Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma strengthen the lower middle order.

After concerns during the South Africa tour, India have added more depth to their bowling. Renuka Singh Thakur will lead the pace attack, supported by Arundhati Reddy and Kranti Goud.

The spin department will revolve around Deepti, with Shreyanka Patil, Shree Charani and Radha Yadav providing additional options.

The tournament will feature 12 teams divided into two groups. India have been placed in Group 1 alongside Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Netherlands.

India will open their campaign against Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham, as they look to push for their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title.
