Babar Azam equals Usman Khan in PSL
Opening the innings, Babar led from the front with a superb 103 off just 59 deliveries, setting the tone for a big total in this high-pressure clash.
With this knock, Babar now has four centuries in PSL history, drawing level with Usman Khan for the most hundreds in the tournament. No other batter has reached that mark so far.
Peshar Zalmi post strong total in Qualifier 1
Babar was well supported early on by Mohammad Haris as the duo came out all guns blazing. The pair stitched together a rapid 57-run opening stand in just 38 deliveries, laying a strong foundation for a massive score.

Haris played the aggressor’s role to perfection, smashing 35 off just 16 balls before falling just as the partnership was gathering serious momentum.
After Haris’ departure, Kushal Mendis walked in and ensured there was no slowdown. He kept the scoring rate high, adding a brisk contribution and sharing a valuable stand with Babar to keep the innings on track.
Islamabad United did manage to pull things back slightly in the middle overs, picking up a few quick wickets to halt what looked like an even bigger finish.
However, Babar found support in Aaron Hardie towards the end, and the pair ensured Peshawar Zalmi crossed the 220-run mark. The innings eventually closed at a commanding 221 for 7.
Islamabad bowlers struggle in Karachi
It was a tough outing with the ball for Islamabad United, as most of their bowlers were taken apart across phases. Only Michael Bracewell and Aaron Hardie managed to pick up a wicket each, but it did little to slow the flow of runs.
With 221 on the board, the pressure now firmly shifts onto the Islamabad batting unit, who will need a near-perfect chase to challenge what looks like a daunting total in this crucial qualifier.
