Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma once again delivered a match defining performance, as he joined David Warner in an elite list during the IPL 2026 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

The young opener looked in complete control, playing with freedom and intent, showing exactly why he is world no.1 T20 batter right now.

Abhishek Sharma joins elite six hitting list

With this knock, Abhishek has now become one of the leading six hitters for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL history, joining some of the biggest names to have played for the franchise.

Most sixes for SRH in IPL:

David Warner – 143
Abhishek Sharma – 101*
Heinrich Klaasen – 89
Kane Williamson – 64
Travis Head – 50

The list reflects how quickly Abhishek has risen through the ranks, already second on the chart and still going strong.

Explosive start puts KKR under pressure

Abhishek along with Travis Head gave Sunrisers Hyderabad a flying start. The duo added 82 runs in just 34 deliveries, completely taking the game away from KKR in the powerplay itself.

Head was aggressive from the start, smashing 46 runs off just 21 balls with six fours and three sixes before being caught by Cameron Green.

Meanwhile, Abhishek looked set for a big score as he raced to 48 off just 21 deliveries, hitting four fours and four sixes. But just when it seemed like he would bring up another half century, a moment of brilliance ended his innings.

Facing Blessing Muzarabani, Abhishek tried to go big towards deep square leg after making a bit of room. The connection was decent, the ball was traveling flat, but Varun Chakravarthy had other ideas.

Running in from fine leg, Varun timed his dive to perfection and pulled off a sensational low catch, removing the dangerous Abhishek Sharma and giving KKR a much-needed breakthrough.
