India’s T20 superstars Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan have maintained their top two positions in the latest ICC T20I player rankings released on Wednesday.

Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan hold top spots

Abhishek continues to lead the chart with 875 rating points, while Kishan is not far behind at 871. India’s presence remains strong in the top 10 with Tilak Varma sitting at sixth and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav placed seventh.

Interestingly, Abhishek despite having a slightly ordinary run in the recent T20 World Cup still managed to hold on to his spot. That was largely due to his crucial 50 plus knock in the final which came at a very important stage.

Kishan too made his mark with a brilliant half century in the final, and since then he looks in top rhythm. With India’s next assignment in England later this year, both players look set for another strong run at the international level.

Among other movements, Jos Buttler moved up one place to eighth, while Tim Seifert slipped one position to ninth. These were the only changes among the top 20 this week.

Rashid Khan leads bowlers rankings

In the bowling rankings, Afghanistan star Rashid Khan continues to hold the top position. India’s Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah remain steady at second and fifth respectively.

South Africa bowlers were among the major gainers after their performances against New Zealand. Gerald Coetzee jumped 36 places to equal 52nd, while Ottneil Baartman climbed to 56th and George Linde moved up to 62nd.

New Zealand’s Zakary Foulkes also made progress, moving up 11 spots to 70th.

In the all-rounders list, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continues to lead the rankings, with India’s Hardik Pandya holding the second spot.

Coetzee remains one of the biggest eye catchers this week, moving up 14 places to equal 72nd following his eight wickets and handy 18 runs during the series against New Zealand.
