When Liverpool started the Premier League campaign of 2025-26, it was looking like they were literally unstoppable. They won back to back seven games in all competitions, and in six out of the seven games, they won via late goals. The team was already being considered the comeback of the season.
But everything started to go downhill from their Crystal Palace match last week, which took place at Selhurst Park. Liverpool lost the game by a 2-1 scoreline after Palace defeated the Reds in the same way the defending Premier League champion had been beating their opponents so far, by a late goal.

Why are Liverpool struggling suddenly?
At the UEFA Champions League fixture in midweek, they lost to Galatasaray Football Club, and the Turkish side also earned a clean sheet. In both games, the Reds had been really poor. Galatasaray scored their only goal from a penalty in the 16th minute, and Liverpool could not find an equaliser in the rest of the game.
The Reds lost back to back 3 games after winning 7 games in a row
They had a reality check game at Stamford Bridge last weekend against Chelsea, and once again, the reigning Premier League Chamions were really poor in each and every section. Despite having a bad game, Chelsea snatched a victory, but it never looked like they were the better side of the two. Presently, a lot of things are going wrong at Liverpool.

Most of the players of the squad had been off form
The biggest issue had been their midfield, which is completely invisible after the introduction of Florian Wirtz and the sudden off form of their star midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The Reds expected to keep the creativity intact by introducing Florian Wirtz after Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure. But surprisingly, the German midfielder had been really awful so far for his new side.
Jeremie Frimpong has also been quite disappointing for his new side, and it is pretty much clear that he is not good defensively. Mohamed Salah had been terribly out of form as well. Presently, the whole team looks like a mess, and to fix the issues, they have to go through a complete transition in their playing style.
