Chennai Super Kings are eagerly waiting for their star batter Dewald Brevis to return soon, as the five-time champions are going through a terrible run in the Indian Premier League 2026.
Brevis, who sustained a side strain just before the start of the 2026 season, has already missed the first three games. The consequences have been visible as the side has witnessed a horrible start to their campaign.
Dewald Brevis' return date in focus before Delhi Capitals clash
As per reports, Dewald Brevis is very likely to return for the Delhi Capitals game on April 11. The clash holds huge importance as CSK are eyeing a comeback, and what better stage than doing it in front of the home crowd at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The youngster himself added to the excitement after hinting at his return. In a public interaction shared on X, Brevis said, “See you guys on the 11th”, which strongly suggests he is targeting this fixture for his comeback.
A blessing in disguise for CSK
Dewald Brevis proved to be a blessing in disguise for CSK last year, joining as an injury replacement after going unsold in the previous auction. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands and played some excellent innings for the side.
His form has not been limited to franchise cricket. He has continued to impress at the international level and in T20 leagues, building a reputation as one of the most explosive batters in the format.
CSK struggles continue from last season
Things have not improved much for CSK from where they left off last season. This year, they started their campaign against the Rajasthan Royals and produced a poor batting display.
The struggles have continued in the middle order. The side has struggled to contain runs with the ball and has failed to deliver in crucial moments, even on flat batting tracks.
Brevis’ inclusion is expected to add much-needed confidence to an already struggling side. The five-time champions will be hoping his return can spark a turnaround and bring stability to their batting unit.
