The White Ferns' chase of 347 to win was the first time a women's ODI had been successfully chased for more than 340 runs and broke the India women's cricket team's previous world record of chasing down 341/5 at Navi Mumbai against Australia in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Final 2025. However, the New Zealand side pushed that further with an aggressive approach as well as determination in their chase.
