The Saturday blockbuster of IPL 2026 delivered another high-scoring classic, as Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down a huge target in Jaipur after a dominant batting display from both sides.

Rajasthan Royals were invited to bat first by SRH skipper Pat Cummins, returning to the side, and what followed was a one-man show at the top of the order.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi headlines RR’s innings

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again stole the spotlight with a breathtaking innings of 103 runs off just 37 deliveries. The 15-year-old prodigy smashed 5 fours and 12 sixes, bringing up his second IPL hundred in style and dismantling the SRH attack with fearless hitting.

He was well supported by Dhruv Jurel, who scored a fluent 51 off 35 balls, while Donovan Ferreira added a quick 33 off 16 deliveries to push Rajasthan Royals to a massive 228/6 in 20 overs.

Among the bowlers, Eshan Malinga picked up two wickets, while Pat Cummins was impressive on his return with figures of 4/27. However, most of the other bowlers went for runs on a flat Jaipur surface.

Sunrisers Hyderabad counter with explosive chase

Sunrisers Hyderabad came out all guns blazing in reply. Travis Head departed early but Abhishek Sharma who provided the early momentum with a blazing 57 off 29 balls, striking 11 fours and a six.

He was soon joined by Ishan Kishan, who played a match-defining knock of 74 off just 31 balls, smashing 11 fours and 3 sixes. The duo completely shifted the pressure back onto Rajasthan Royals.

After the openers laid the foundation, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy carried the chase forward with composure and power. Their contributions ensured SRH stayed ahead in the chase despite brief breakthroughs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad eventually chased down 229 in 18.3 overs with 5 wickets in hand, sealing a dominant win in a high-scoring contest.

Rajasthan Royals struggle despite Jofra Archer’s effort

For Rajasthan Royals, it was a disappointing outing with the ball despite early promise. Jofra Archer picked up 2 wickets for 34 runs in his four overs, showing control in patches.

Brijesh Sharma also claimed two wickets, but the rest of the bowling unit struggled to contain the aggressive SRH batting lineup on a flat pitch.
