NEW DELHI: Sri Lanka national cricket team skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to bowl first against England cricket team in their Super Eights clash of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup on Sunday.
Sri Lanka have made two changes to their XI. Dushmantha Chameera and Kamil Mishara come into the side in place of Pramod Madushan and Kusal Perera. England, on the other hand, have decided to stick with the same combination.
Both teams under pressure
This is a crucial fixture for both sides as the race for a semifinal spot begins to tighten. England have not looked at their dominant best in the tournament so far, yet they have managed to grind out wins at key moments.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have had to cope with injury setbacks to key players, which has forced them to constantly tweak their combination.
With plenty at stake and both teams eager to build momentum in the Super Eights stage, an intense and potentially thrilling contest could be on the cards.
Teams:
Sri Lanka: Dasun Shanaka (C), Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis, Pavan Rathnayake, Kamindu Mendis, Dunith Wellalage, D Hemantha, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana, D Madushanka.
