Sai Sudharsan jumps to No. 1 in Orange cap race after GT vs KKR; Bhuvneshwar continues Purple Cap dominance

Up there near the top, Gill tightened his grip thanks to another knock past eighty. That spell at bat brought his total to 552, nudging him ahead into the second spot among scorers.

Sliding down to third, Klaasen still sits among just three batters past 500 runs this term - his total now at 508. Ahead of him, the pair from Gujarat leapfrogged despite his solid tally.

Fifth spot belongs to Virat Kohli from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, tallying 484 runs. Close behind, Abhishek Sharma opens the innings for SRH with 481. Both sit just inside the top tier. Numbers alone mark their place. Not far off the leaders, yet not ahead either.

Down near the bottom of the order, Angkrish Raghuvanshi kept shining for KKR, smashing 82 not out off just 44 deliveries. That explosive innings pushed him up to 13th on the run charts now on 422, with his fifth fifty coming in this relentless stretch.

Purple Cap race remains unchanged after KKR vs GT in IPL 2026

Stillness marked the IPL 2026 Purple Cap race following the match at Eden Gardens. While the Orange Cap changed hands, this one barely shifted. Rashid Khan found no breakthroughs, just like Kartik Tyagi, both stuck at 16 victims apiece.
