Ryan Rickelton has made his way back into the Mumbai Indians playing XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad and he made full use of the opportunity as the left-hander went on to smash a record-breaking century at the Wankhede Stadium.
Rickelton, who was dropped a couple of matches earlier to make way for Quinton de Kock, returned to the side after the latter suffered a wrist injury. He made sure that a struggling MI batting lineup finished on a high in what was almost a must-win clash for the five-time champions.

Ryan Rickelton makes most of return with record ton
After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians opted to bat first and sent out a new opening pair of Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks. The duo started positively, finding crisp boundaries all around the ground and ensuring a strong start for the hosts.
Will Jacks looked in good touch but fell short of a half-century, getting dismissed for 46. However, Ryan Rickelton continued his assault on the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers and dominated the innings from one end.
The left-hander went on to score a stunning 123 off just 45 deliveries, including 10 fours and 8 sixes. With this knock, Rickelton registered the fastest century for Mumbai Indians in IPL history.
Fastest hundreds for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai post big total but concerns remain
Mumbai Indians finished on a high with 243 runs in 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Apart from Jacks and Rickelton, Naman Dhir and Hardik Pandya also played important roles in the innings.
Naman Dhir contributed with 22 runs off 17 balls, while Hardik Pandya, who had been struggling for form, provided a strong finish with 31 runs off just 15 deliveries, including two fours and two sixes.
However, Suryakumar Yadav’s poor run of form continued as he was dismissed early once again for just 5 runs. This remains a major concern for Mumbai, as a player who was once the backbone of their batting lineup is struggling to even get starts.
MI are desperate for a win in this clash to keep their campaign alive. With five defeats already, they need a strong turnaround in the coming matches to stay in contention for the playoffs.
