A fearless start from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in a big chase
Coming out to open the innings when RR needed 202 runs to win against a strong RCB bowling attack, Sooryavanshi once again showed why he is regarded as one of the most dangerous openers in this IPL.
He took on bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood right from the first over. The intent was clear and there was no slowing down.
He raced to a 15 ball fifty and did not stop there. Even after Yashasvi Jaiswal departed for 13, Sooryavanshi continued his attack.
He went on to score 78 runs in just 26 deliveries. The innings included eight fours and seven sixes, striking at 300 which is something every batter dreams of.
Along with Dhruv Jurel, he stitched a 108-run partnership in just 37 deliveries, putting RR firmly in control of the chase.
With this knock Sooryavanshi etched his name in some of the prominent records lists.
