After being invited to bat first, RCB’s batters fired on all cylinders and took real hammering on GT bowlers right from the start. But the star of the show was Rajat Patidar, who smashed a sensational 93-run knock in just 33 deliveries.

Rajat Patidar headlines RCB’s brutal batting display

RCB got a flying start in the powerplay itself as Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer took a serious toll on GT bowlers, adding 76 runs in the first six overs while dominating in style. The assault carried on further when Krunal and Rajat Patidar stitched together 95-run stand, but the standout innings undoubtedly belonged to Patidar.

Jitesh Sharma also joined the charge despite enduring a flop season, smashing 15 runs in just five deliveries as RCB posted a mammoth total.

It turned out to be a seriously poor day for GT bowlers. Their body language looked completely down and out, while skipper Shubman Gill was visibly irritated with fielding lapses and the poor performance from his bowlers throughout the innings.

Only Jason Holder managed to avoid conceding heavy runs, giving away just 39 runs in his four overs while picking up two wickets. Apart from him, it was a very expensive night for all the GT bowlers in Dharamsala.
