Rajasthan Royals will carry their Pink Promise initiative into IPL 2026 when they face Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday May 9.

The players will don their distinctive all-pink uniforms for the occasion a tradition that has now entered its third season and grown significantly in both scale and meaning since it was first introduced. What started as a social responsibility gesture has become one of the most genuinely impactful community programmes connected to any IPL team and the 2026 edition adds a new dimension that makes this match even more worth watching.

The Pink Promise jersey with a story behind it

This year's all-pink jersey is not just a uniform, it is someone's artwork. The design was chosen through the Rajasthan Royals' HunaRR Manch contest from over 8,500 submissions received from across the country.

Winning design came from 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada from Nashik, who incorporated solar-inspired patterns into the jersey alongside the names of women supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. The jersey carries the campaign's core message, Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai, and every element of it has been thought through with the women-led social change initiative at the centre of the design philosophy rather than as an afterthought.

Every six during RR vs GT lights up the home

The most compelling element of this year's Pink Promise match is the direct link between what happens on the cricket field and what happens in rural Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Royals have announced that every six hit during the RR vs GT game will power six homes throughout Rajasthan with solar energy, part of the franchise's ongoing commitment to women-led electrification projects in underserved communities across the state. The Royal Rajasthan Foundation has already provided electricity to 260 homes through solar energy projects in 2024 and expanded that to over 520 homes in 2025.

Women from the Sambhar region have been trained in all aspects of solar infrastructure work, installation, maintenance and sustainability, and are at the centre of the programme rather than simply being its beneficiaries.

Where Rajasthan Royals stand and what this match means for their IPL 2026 season

Beyond the social significance, Saturday's game against Gujarat Titans is also an important fixture for Rajasthan Royals' IPL 2026 campaign. RR made a blistering start to the season with four consecutive wins but results have tapered off since and they now need to manage the final stretch carefully.

Two wins from their remaining four matches should be enough to take them to 16 points, the benchmark that has historically guaranteed playoff qualification in the 10-team era. Three wins for RR would effectively seal a top-two finish and a direct route to the final through Qualifier 1. Their remaining fixtures are Gujarat Titans on May 9, Delhi Capitals on May 17, Lucknow Super Giants on May 19 and Mumbai Indians on May 24.

A positive NRR of 0.510 gives them a cushion but Rajasthan Royals will know that Saturday's home game under the pink jersey, in front of their own crowd, is the ideal opportunity to take a significant step toward the playoffs while also delivering something that matters well beyond the cricket.
