NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Lions combined a late flurry of batting with disciplined bowling to secure a 16-run victory over Dubai Royals in Match 6 of the World Legends Pro T20 League in Goa. After being sent in to bat, the Lions suffered early blows as Eoin Morgan and Callum Ferguson fell cheaply, leaving the team reeling at 23 for 2 inside the first four overs.

A stabilising partnership between Naman Ojha and Suresh Raina steadied the innings. Ojha played a fearless counter-attacking innings, scoring a fluent half-century off roughly 30 balls, while Raina provided the necessary stability at the other end. By the midway point, Rajasthan were 79 for 2, keeping their innings on track despite not yet breaking fully free.

Raina briefly tried to accelerate the innings but was dismissed for 30, sparking a middle-order collapse. JP Duminy followed soon after, falling for a golden duck to give Rishi Dhawan two wickets in as many balls, leaving the Lions reeling at 95/4.

Dubai Royals then looked poised to take control, as Piyush Chawla wreaked havoc through the middle order with a sensational spell that included the first hat-trick of the World Legends Pro T20 League. Yet Rajasthan managed to find late momentum, thanks to brisk contributions from Jesal Karia (31 off 18) and Bipul Sharma (22 off 13), pushing the total to a competitive 170/9.

That late surge with the bat proved crucial. Chasing 171, Dubai Royals never found a foothold as Rajasthan Lions produced a disciplined and commanding bowling display.

Jesal Karia and Bipul Sharma shared five wickets between them, keeping the Royals under constant pressure. Ultimately, Dubai Royals were bowled out for 154 in 19.1 overs, falling 16 runs short of the target.
