Out on the field, Delhi’s captain Axar Patel pointed fingers at his squad’s weak hitting and shaky pitching after they crumbled in a crushing loss - one that now leaves their postseason dreams hanging by a thread.
Pulling ahead slightly, KKR finds itself seventh with nine points after ten outings, keeping faint chances of making it through still alive. Eighth now sits Delhi Capitals, managing only eight points despite playing eleven matches so far.
“For now, we’ll go back and think about the mistakes we made. After that, obviously, there’s still a long journey ahead, and next year will come too. So we’ll think about what plans we can make for next year and what approach we should take,” Axar said after the match.
“Based on that, we can also look at the players sitting on the bench and decide who can be given opportunities and what changes we can make,” he added, hinting at possible changes to the squad next season.
