The fourth match of IPL 2026 will be played between the Punjab Kings and the Gujarat Titans at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Monday, March 31. With the two having had entirely different campaigns in 2025, both teams have a lot to show in the new season.

Punjab Kings were one of the best teams in the previous season and reached the final, where they lost in a heartbreaking six-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, PBKS have mostly retained the same team, believing in continuity and in the power of their players.

Gujarat Titans, with Shubman Gill as their captain, on the other hand, are seeking to rectify the costly errors that led to their elimination in the eliminator last season. Having also welcomed some heavy hitters such as Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan, the Titans seem balanced and are better placed to meet the pressure situations this time.

This is one of the most unpredictable rivalries in the IPL in the past. Although GT has been the victor in the initial interactions, PBKS has reversed the momentum in recent times, defeating them in the last match in 2025 by defending a huge 243.

Let us have a look at the top three players who could emerge as the top scorer in the PBKS vs GT match:

1. Shreyas Iyer (PBKS)

The PBKS leader is in the best form of his life. During their last encounter with GT, he busted 97 blistering 42-ball innings. His ability to anchor the innings and move quickly on spin makes him the greatest threat to the Titans' bowling attack.

2. Sai Sudharsan (GT)

Sai Sudharsan established himself as the technical support of the Gujarat Titans' top order in IPL 2025. He was an example of restrained violence, which was brought to the fore during his stellar performance, in which he won the Orange Cap. In the 2026 season, Sudharsan will be required to take up the role of the so-called stabiliser who can easily move between anchoring and accelerating.

3. Prabhsimran Singh (PBKS)

Prabhsimran Singh enters the 2026 season as the key attacker for the Punjab Kings, providing the breathtaking opening partnerships that helped them reach the final in 2025. His 2025 campaign was full of his so-called hit-or-miss comebacks, but the intent of his fearlessness continued to pose a threat to the powerplay plans of the opposition.

Should he survive the initial three overs, his ability to hit the ropes with ease, like his explosive starts last season, will be what sees PBKS post or pursue an imposing total in New Chandigarh.

Let us have a look at the top three players who could emerge as the top wicket-taker in the PBKS vs GT match:

RASHID KHAN

1. Arshdeep Singh (PBKS)

Arshdeep Singh, in IPL 2025, made 21 wickets out of 16 matches at an average of 24.67 and an economy of 8.88. Being one of the highest-paid fast bowlers, he was the best wicket-taker in his team, and he appeared in the Purple Cap race.

2. Rashid Khan (GT)

The Afghan maestro is still the gold standard of T20 spin. Rashid still has an incredible economy even during high-scoring games. PBKS’s middle order, comprising Stoinis and Shashank Singh, will be forced to play their four overs against Rashid with a lot of tactical brilliance.

3. Yuzvendra Chahal (PBKS)

Chahal could lead PBKS' spin department and be crucial against GT's left-handers, Sudharsan and Rahul Tewatia. Despite his limited appearances in domestic cricket, the former RCB star remains one of the most consistent wicket-takers in T20s.
