Kolkata Knight Riders post competitive total
After Lucknow Super Giants won the toss, Rishabh Pant straightaway decided to bowl first and it went in their way ultimately.
KKR once again got a poor start as Finn Allen got out early once again for just 9 runs. Ajinkya Rahane then scored a well composed 41 runs in 24 balls and Angkrish Raghuvanshi once again played a handy knock of 45 runs to keep KKR in the game.
Cameron Green then came out to bat at number four and played a 32-run knock but it took a lot of deliveries. Then Rovman Powell ensured that they crossed the 180-run mark as he scored 39 runs, helping KKR finish at 181 for 4.
For LSG, it was again a good bowling performance as Mohammed Shami went wicketless but gave away just 27 runs in his 4 overs. Apart from him, Digvesh Rathi bowled really well, picking up a wicket and conceding only 25 runs in 4 overs.
Mukul Choudhary turns the game with stunning knock
Coming out to bat, it looked like an easy chase for LSG but things did not go their way. Mitchell Marsh departed early for 15 runs, while Aiden Markram got a start but could not convert it and was dismissed for 22.
Then Ayush Badoni and skipper Rishabh Pant tried to steady things but departed for 10 runs. Badoni scored a valuable 54 runs, but LSG slipped to 128 for 7 and it once looked like the win was far away.
Mukul Choudhary then came in and played a knock to remember for long. He scored 54 runs in just 27 deliveries, including 2 fours and 7 massive sixes, taking the bowlers apart all around the ground.
In the last over, with 14 runs required, Mukul held his nerve and completed the chase on the final ball.
Overall, Lucknow Super Giants registered their second win and now move to fifth position on the points table. KKR remain at ninth and are still searching for their first win.
