Suryakumar Yadav admitted that the team has found itself in an unfamiliar position this season, with results not going their way. He stressed that the focus remains on staying positive and continuing to play the game with the right intent, despite the challenges.
“You can’t run away from the fact, to be very honest. Mumbai Indians is not known to be in such positions. But at the end of the day, it’s just a game, part of the game. You have to keep your chin up, play the game for the love of it, and keep putting your hands up.”
Rishabh Pant acknowledged that it has been a tough season for the side, but highlighted the passion and support from the team management, especially the owner, as a motivating factor. He added that the team is focused on staying together and finishing strong.
“One thing we have always found out, it’s been a tough season for us and there is no running away from that. But one person who has probably had the most difficult time is our owner, Mr. Goenka. Everyone knows how passionate he is about cricket and about his team.”
