Chennai Super Kings look to return to winning ways
Unlike Mumbai Indians, the other five-time champions started their season with three defeats. However, it was expected as they had lost several key players to injuries prior to the tournament.
CSK defeated Delhi and Kolkata in back-to-back matches at home to revive their campaign, but took a step back after another defeat against Hyderabad in their last game. To make things worse, Chennai lost their leading run-getter, Ayush Mhatre, and powerplay specialist Khaleel Ahmed to injuries in their last two matches. So they are back to where they had started.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is yet to score a big knock and is under pressure to perform today. It will be interesting to see who will take Ayush Mhatre's No. 3 role today. But what CSK need is two big points against their biggest rivals to get back on the winning track and rebuild their momentum for the playoffs.
