In the sweltering heat of Delhi, KL Rahul has just played an innings of a lifetime against Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The right-hander came out to open the innings for Delhi Capitals and completely tore apart every Punjab bowler, making sure a flood of records followed as he smashed 152 runs off just 67 deliveries, including 16 fours and 9 sixes, at a strike rate of over 226.

The cricketing fraternity hailed Rahul’s effort against a strong Punjab side as Delhi Capitals posted 264 for the loss of two wickets.

KL Rahul creates history with massive records

  • 5579 runs: Became the fifth-highest run scorer in IPL history, surpassing legendary Suresh Raina (5528).

Nitish Rana and Rahul help Delhi post a mammoth total

After losing Pathum Nissanka early, Rahul unleashed a brutal assault on Punjab Kings’ bowling attack. A dropped chance early on by Shashank Singh turned out to be one of the costliest mistakes in IPL history.

Rahul and Nitish Rana stitched together a monstrous 220-run partnership in just 95 deliveries, giving the opposition a day they will not forget in a hurry. Punjab Kings bowlers were completely taken apart throughout the innings.

Nitish Rana scored 91 runs off 44 deliveries, including 11 fours and 4 sixes, narrowly missing out on a well-deserved century, as Delhi Capitals ended up posting a massive total of 264 runs, powered by one of the greatest IPL batting displays ever seen.
