Most Sixes in IPL History: Top Players, Teams & Season Records till 2025

Chris Gayle played 141 innings and smashed a record 357 sixes, the best player in hitting sixes in the tournament. Along with that, he struck 405 fours and scored a massive 4.965 in his IPL career with a strike rate of 148.96. Gayle has a batting average of 39.72. He is the number 1 in the list of hitting the most sixes in IPL by a player. 

Virat Kohli stands second on the list with his consistent power-hitting ability. In 259 innings, he has hit 291 sixes and 771 fours while scoring a staggering 8661 runs with a strike rate of 132.86 and 27.67 average. He ranked as the 2nd player in hitting the Most sixes in IPL history.

Rohit Sharma is the 3rd cricketer in the most sixes tally. He played 243 innings and notched 288 sixes and 626 fours. The right-handed batter has accumulated 6844 runs with an average of 29.58 and a 131.46 strike rate. 

MS Dhoni, the legendary finisher, takes the fourth spot with his explosive batting at the end of the innings. Dhoni played 242 innings, scored 3957 runs with a strike rate of 137.45. He scored 264 sixes and 375 fours in IPL, and he holds the record of hitting the most sixes in IPL death overs.

AB de Villiers receives fifth place in the list of getting the most sixes in IPL history. In 170 innings, he smashed 251 sixes and 406 fours, scoring 4,162 runs with a strike rate of 151.69. The South African batter is known for his big hitting ability.

David Warner has posted 236 sixes in IPL in 184 innings. Warner has scored 6565 runs with a strike rate of 139.77. With sixes, he also hit 663 boundaries in IPL and, among all big hitters, sits at 6th place in the elite list of most Sixes in IPL
