The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is around the corner and we are eagerly waiting for the tournament. The stats and records of the ICC tournaments have always been the craze. Most Wickets in T20 World Cup(2007 to 2024)

Shakib Al Hasan topped the most wickets in t20 world cup table with 50 wickets in 43 matches with a strike rate of 17.56. Pakistani all rounder Shahid Afridi is in the second position with 39 wickets at 23.26 avg in 34 matches. Lasith Malinga took 38 wickets in 31 matches of his world cup career and in the third position on most wickets in t20 wc tally. Wanindu Hasaranga has an excellent average of 11.73 and took 37 wickets in just 19 matches in this tournament at 6.01 economy rate. Afghanistan leg spinner took 37 wickets in 24 world cup matches at an amazing strike rate of 14.14. 

Adam Zampa from Australia took 36 wickets in 22 matches at an average of 13.69. Pakistan off spinner Saeed Ajmal is in the 7th spot in the list who took 36 wickets in 23 matches. Tim Southee from New Zealand is the next name in the most wickets in T20 world cup table who took 36 wickets in 26 world cup matches with 15.28 average. Anrich Nortje, Ajantha Mendis, Umar Gul, Trent Boult and Ravi Ashwin among the other bowlers took the most wickets in t20 wc history.

Most Consistent Wicket-takers in T20 World Cup

Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka is the most consistent wicket-taker in t20 world cup history. He was the top wicket taker in back to back t20 wc seasons of 2021 and 2022. Leg spinner Rashid Khan is another consistent wicket taker who finished the second highest wicket taker in 2016 and among the top 5 in the last world cup. Ajantha Mendis and Umar Gul are the other consistent wicket-takers in T20 WC history. Mendis took 15 wickets and was the highest wicket-taker in 2012 wc and Umar Gul was the top wicket taker in 2007 and 2009 world cup.
