Veteran umpires Richard Kettleborough and Chris Gaffaney will officiate India’s opening Super 8 clash against South Africa in Ahmedabad on Sunday, the ICC confirmed on Friday.
They will be joined by TV umpire Alex Wharf and fourth umpire Chris Brown for the high-profile encounter.
The Super 8 stage begins on Saturday with Pakistan taking on New Zealand in Colombo. Rodney Tucker and Paul Reiffel have been appointed as the on-field umpires for that fixture, while Allahudien Paleker will serve as TV umpire and Sam Nogajski as fourth umpire.
Tucker and Nogajski will also stand in the middle for Sri Lanka’s match against Pakistan in Kandy on February 24. Nogajski is further scheduled to officiate England’s game against Pakistan at the same venue, partnering Nitin Menon.

Adrian Holdstock and Ahsan Raza will oversee England’s clash with the co-hosts in Kandy on Sunday, as well as their contest against New Zealand on February 27.
For Sri Lanka’s meeting with New Zealand in Colombo on February 25, Paleker and Asif Yaqoob have been named as the on-field officials.
Gaffaney and Wharf will take charge of the final Super 8 fixture between India and the West Indies in Kolkata on March 1. Meanwhile, Wharf and Kettleborough will officiate the co-hosts’ game against Zimbabwe on February 26.
The February 23 match between Zimbabwe and the West Indies in Mumbai will be handled by Richard Illingworth and Jayaraman Madanagopal.
Shahid Saikat and Kumar Dharmasena have been assigned to the West Indies’ encounter with South Africa on February 26. Dharmasena will later partner Illingworth for South Africa’s game against Zimbabwe on March 1.
Ranjan Madugalle, Andrew Pycroft, Richie Richardson and Javagal Srinath will continue in their roles as match referees throughout the Super 8 stage.
