Delhi Capitals have signed Rehan Ahmed as a replacement for Ben Duckett for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026, as confirmed by the franchise on X.

Duckett, who was bought for INR 2 crore at the auction, had pulled out ahead of IPL 2026 due to personal reasons, opting to focus on domestic commitments and red-ball cricket with an eye on England’s upcoming Test assignments.

Rehan Ahmed, one of England’s brightest young prospects, comes in as a versatile replacement who can contribute with both bat and ball. The leg-spinning all-rounder has already made an impression at the international level and adds depth to Delhi’s squad. He is signed by franchise for INR 75 lakhs.

Rehan has represented England cricket team in 5 Tests, 9 ODIs and 13 T20Is, claiming 49 wickets across formats.

He also holds the distinction of being the youngest player to debut in Test cricket for England, having made his debut at 18 years and 126 days in Karachi in December 2022.
